Using a Superbill for insurance purposes

If you would like to work with me and do not have BCBSIL and you have out-of-network benefits for counseling with your insurance, they may help cover part of the session.  You can contact your insurance to find out what your out-of-network benefits are.  If you do and you’d like to use the benefit, I can provide you with a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Note that you are responsible for paying the full cost of our session to me at the time of service.   If they approve it, your insurer will be reimbursing you directly because they assume that you have already paid for the service.

A Superbill is an invoice showing the services you received from me along with information that insurance companies need.   They will require that I provide a diagnosis for you.  A Superbill gives your insurance the information they need to pay the claim.   I can provide you with one for you to submit to your insurance after a session.   It is up to your insurance whether they will reimburse you.
